Communication just got easier and better!

Having a phone on your desk is an obvious thing to need in business, but how to you manage when you are working from home, or travelling on business?

Many of you will have heard of Skype and the latest incarnation of non-phone communication is built into Microsoft Teams.

Now you can take advantage of very low call costs (if any as most calls can be made using the internet) and your smartphone or Microsoft Surface laptop can be your audio and video device.

Not only can you call, you can share your screen, have conference calls or record content, all as part of your O365 platform.

In the past, I used to have subscriptions to Zoom and Webex, but I now use my Teams system for all my outgoing and incoming communications, and what’s more, if I am working from home, I can get my office calls (or send them to voicemail) just as I would do from my desk.

If your organisation wants to bring hot-desking to the workplace, the fact that you no longer need a physical phone on each desk, can offer huge cost savings.

This service is called Microsoft Voice and can be used to offer a phone number (DDI) to anyone on your team, so that they can receive calls on their PC or smartphone.

If you dont need to give them a number, you can set Microsoft Teams to communicate with other staff members or even external parties who also have Teams, this makes communicatrion and client relationships a whole lot nicer and builds in client loyalty.
